The Boundless CF is probably one of the most cost efficient vaporizers on the market. It’s the portable version of the Boundless CFX and can fit comfortably fit in your hand. It’s a little on the wider side so it’s slightly harder to pocket but offers great portability and discreteness otherwise. The shining attribute of the CF is definitely the vapor quality. It boasts a consistent, fresh flavor on every breath, unlike any other vaporizer near its price range. It’s a fantastic vaporizer for first timers or those with a low budget and we recommend it to anyone.
The vapor is usually very mellow, fragrant and tasty. It is a lighter tasting vaporizer then most and hits are very smooth. It’s certainly not the best tasting vaporizer we’ve utilized but it is also able to keep the flavor quality at a somewhat consistent level for the duration of the session, which is very extremely difficult to pull off. Even towards the end when most of the taste is gone, there is little to no harshness associated with the vapor. The oven is relatively big (0.6g packed) so you’re able to burn a lot of dry herb for a solid session. There is however a “factory” taste that comes with the new vaporizer and usually takes a couple of sessions to completely get rid of. There is somewhat of a draw resistance so it isn’t terribly easy to keep on pulling the vapor but usually it’s not required anyway. Note that both CF and CFX actually produce a lot of vapor.
The CF is a decently efficient vaporizer. The large oven allows you to put a lot of marijuana in at once, but we actually recommend against that. Instead use smaller amounts of coarsely grinded herbs for the best efficiency. Filling the oven a little bit above halfway is probably the best bet. The isolated airpath and multiple temperature settings can aid in flexibility and efficiency when smoking: just keep on raising the temperature every time you sense a drop in flavor. We don’t recommend stirring your herbs in the middle of a session as the CF is able to vaporize everything quite evenly, which also helps increase efficiency. The warm up time is usually as low as only 20 seconds, which is very convenient. If you’re looking for something more efficient we recommend checking out the FireFly 2 or Crafty.
Ease of Use
Boundless CF is very intuitive and easy to use. The CFX version actually also has as screen display that shows you the current temperature which is very convenient. While the CF does not have such a display, it contains LED lights on the side to indicate what temperature setting you’re running. You simply lift off the top to access the herb chamber. Fill it up with your herb, set the top back on, and press the power button 5 times to get it started. Cleaning and maintainability are both very easy to do and usually don’t involve more than a couple of minutes of your time every couple of weeks. You actually don’t have to clean the CF too often which is another added plus. As shown in the picture, the CF comes with everything that you need to maintain or clean it.
The battery life for the CF is actually on the higher side for a vaporizer of this size. You can get around 5 sessions for about 10-15 minutes, so on low temperature settings you can easily get over an hour of usage before you have to recharge. Recharging is a little bit on the longer side and takes about 3-4 hours for full charge, but it’s a small price to pay for having the great portability provided by the CF. On higher temperature settings, you’re looking at still about 45-50 minutes of continued usage which is pretty good.
The Boundless CF has a sleek, comfortable design that is actually pretty discrete. However, the light display for the temperature settings on the side is a little revealing and hurts when you want to use the vape in the dark. We recommend taping the side if you’re looking to smoke late at night. Most people usually can’t guess that it’s a vaporizer and it honestly looks more like a dark flask than anything. The smell from the vapor is also not that bad and dissipates quickly.
The CF fits comfortably in your hand with a great outside rimmed plastic finish that makes it easy to hold and grab. It can fit into most pockets and can be put in compartments and bookbags with ease. This is a vape we actually recommend for travelling as it has pretty good discreteness as well. It never gets hot to hold so it’s easy to use in groups and with friends. It’s a little on the wider side so if you’re pocketing you might have to make sure there’s nothing else in there.
Boundless CF features quite a quality build for this price range. It feels and looks sturdy and usually you can drop it multiple times without any problems. Most consumer reviews indicate that it can last a very long time if you take the time to clean and maintain it a couple of times every month. If there would be any durability issues, it would be that the CFX’s screen can get scratched and dirty on the outside. Since the CF doesn’t have a screen, you don’t have to deal with those issues.
